Good old maps printed on paper don’t cut it anymore in this technology-driven world. We have digital
maps for that. And not just any topographic maps, we need maps that show us the real pictures. Lines
are good and all, but it’s now easier for us to navigate places if we can see the surroundings, buildings,
houses and more in full colour.
Google Maps shows us all these. It offers satellite imagery, panoramic views of streets and true pictures
of surrounding areas. You can see the building where you work, the street you grew up on, the park your
children play at and more. You can even see your house in full colour there.
But if you can easily see it just by clicking Google Maps, strangers can also do that.
They will know if you park your car outside your door or if you have a garage to store it in. They will know if you have a side
entrance to your house or if your balcony is close to a tree on your front garden/yard.
Details like this seem innocent at first, but for people with bad intention, they are very useful if they are
plotting something to your home.
You can’t have your house’s images deleted from Google Maps, but you can have it hidden. If you want
to learn how to do it, check out this amazing infographic presented by MikesGearReviews.
