Welcome back to the State of Adi’s Tech Site. If you are new to this website, I use this feature to update you about everything going on here at Adi’s Tech Site.
I have two updates to share with you so let’s jump right in with the first update.
As many of you have noticed, I have not been posting articles. This is because I have been on hiatus. I apologise if I have not updated you on this one, but don’t worry I will return with more content as soon as possible.
The other thing that I would like to share is a change that I will be making to this website. It’s not a change to the look of the website, but more of a technological change. Here at Adi’s Tech Site I am pleased to say that I am making the transition to a technology called secure socket layers (SSL). Normally when you shop at amazon, ebay (or your favourite online store) on a computer you normally see HTTPS along with a little padlock. I am always on the lookout for ways in which I can improve your experience on this website. As such I will be implementing SSL on this website.
For the curious amongst you, in order to implement SSL, you need to get an SSL certificate. To do that you need to go to a certificate authority and pay a monthly or annual subscription fee. I will be using a free SSL certificate from either CloudFlare or Let’s Encrypt. Before you ask, if you have a free CloudFlare account then you can get a free SSL certificate.
So, when can you expect the move to SSL to be completed? The answer is in the following weeks. I am already in the process of starting this transition. If you would like to follow my progress I would strongly recommend following me on Twitter. These updates will also get posted on the Adi’s Tech Site Facebook page, so follow that page as well.
So what’s happening at the moment? Well Adi’s Tech Site is still on hiatus. With that said I am not shutting down the website. I intend to keep the website going for a while. Again, I will return soon.
So that’s all I have to share with you for this update. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments.
Last but not least I would like to thank you for your cotinued support and making Adi’s Tech Site your place for all things technology since 2011.
