For a long time, Google has been keeping the name of it’s newest version of it’s smartphone/tablet operating system a secret. Google has kept fans guessing and for a while, it has been codenamed Android P.
However, after a long wait Google has told us that the newest version of Android is called Android Pie. This release will include the ability for you to set time limits for apps (if you want). You will also see more gestures in Android P similar to those found in the iPhone X.
Additionally, you have another feature called App Actions. This means that it will learn the apps that you open at given times of day. For example, if you open Google Maps on your way to work, then it will suggest to open up Google Maps.
So, when can you get it? Well if you have one of Google’s Pixel devices, then it’s rolling out right now.
If you have one of the many devices that were part of the Android beta program (including devices from Sony, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Essential’s devices) then you will get Android Pie at the end of Autumn/Fall.
You can have a look at everything that Android Pie has to offer right here.
