Ahead of the release of its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on 19th September, Apple has officially released iOS 8 and its now available for downloading.
The latest version of its mobile device operating system for iPhones and iPads can now be downloaded by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Alternatively, you can plug your iPad into your Mac or Windows PC and download the iOS 8 update through iTunes.
Be advised that this is going to be a huge download. For example, on the iPad 4 the update weighs in at a hefty 1.1GB. The update itself will also require about 5.8GB of storage. So if you have a lot of video on your iPad or some larger apps, then make sure to back them up and delete them to make room.
Additionally, I would also recommend holding off for a week before downloading it. This is because a lot of people will want to download it right now and it normally takes about a week for the initial rush to die down. Apart from that, if you are really desperate, then go forth and download it now.
There has also been some other revelations coming out from iOS 8 being downloaded which I shall cover in upcoming articles, so stay tuned for those!
Have you downloaded iOS 8 yet? If so, what was your experience like? Let me know in the comments!
