As many of you might have heard by now Google’s Gmail recently got an upgrade.
However, at their IO developer conference, there is yet another feature coming out called Smart Compose.
Suppose you wish you invite your friends around for dinner. Google will try to predict and when you press Tab, it writes your email for you. In fact, in the on-stage demonstration at Google IO, Smart Compose was used to write an email to invite a few friends over for some Tacos on Tuesday at 6 PM. Keep in mind that you have to be using the new Gmail in order to do this.
That way you can save yourself a bunch of time typing out an email.
Smart reply seems like it could come in handy. We’ve all been in that situation when we are sending an email in a hurry and we spell something wrong or we just want to get that email out the door.
Don’t get me wrong, I am all for things that save time when trying to get things done. Again, it will be handy for when I need to quickly craft an email to someone and send it. With that said I wonder how it predicts what I would like to write.
Smart Compose will come to Gmail in the next few weeks for all of us. However, if you use G Suite at your workplace, then you will see it in the next few months.
