Oculus has announced a new version of its in development headset known as Crescent Bay.
So, what does the new version of this in-development virtual reality headset bring to the table? Well, one of the headline features is that it comes with full 360 degree head tracking. On top of that, the Oculus Cresecent Bay will also come with it’s own headphones that will provide 3D audio.
In terms of the actual displays on the new version have a higher screen resolution and have less latency.
Having the built-in headset into the crescent bay version of the Oculus Rift is something that makes sense. I played with the second Oculus Rift(the DK2) and whilst it was an amazing experience it was quite cumbersome having to make my headphones fit on top of the Oculus Rift. So this makes it a lot better for the gamer.
With that said, it will be interesting to see how developers will take advantage of it.
